Good coffee is not only about beans. Water carries flavor, ratio sets the structure, and balance turns a recipe into something you want to repeat.

Use water you enjoy drinking
If your water tastes flat, harsh, or strongly mineral, your coffee will usually follow. Start with filtered water that tastes clean and soft. This single change can make the cup feel sweeter and more open.
Choose a simple ratio
For pour-over, try one part coffee to fifteen or sixteen parts water. For example, 15 grams of coffee with 240 grams of water. From there, adjust gently: more water for a lighter cup, less water for more intensity.
A calm starting recipe
- Coffee: 15 g
- Water: 240 g
- Grind: medium-fine
- Total brew time: around 2:30–3:00
A recipe is only useful when it helps you relax into the next cup.
